When the mountain weather turns, this is where we send guests. A moving glass tunnel walks you straight through a tank of sharks and rays, and there’s enough packed into the building (touch pools, penguins, jellyfish) to burn a solid two to three hours without anyone getting restless.
It sits right on the Gatlinburg Parkway, so parking is easy to find nearby even in peak season, and it’s fully indoors and climate-controlled, which makes it the obvious call on a rainy or unbearably hot afternoon. Go right when it opens or in the last couple of hours before close to dodge the biggest crowds, midday in July gets genuinely busy.
Younger kids tend to love the touch tank and the penguin feedings (check the day’s schedule at the entrance), while the shark tunnel is the one everyone remembers afterward. It’s an easy walk from most of the cabins on the Gatlinburg side of our collection, and pairs naturally with a stroll along the Parkway for dinner once you’re done.
