This is the breakfast we point families toward more than any other. The Old Mill is an actual working grist mill on the Little Pigeon River, and the restaurant next door serves the kind of Southern breakfast that makes the wait worth it, buttermilk biscuits, fried apples, stone-ground grits milled right there on site.
It gets busy, especially on weekend mornings, and they don’t always take reservations for smaller parties, so plan for a short wait if you arrive after 9am. While you’re there, walk the mill itself and the little pottery shop next door, it’s a genuinely pretty stretch of the river, and a nice slow start before a busier day at the parks.
Lunch and dinner lean hearty and Southern too (think fried chicken, pot roast, cathead biscuits), so it’s a solid option any time of day, not just mornings. It’s a five-minute drive from most of our Pigeon Forge properties, making it an easy first stop the morning you arrive or a relaxed way to close out a stay.
