Tropic Falls at OWA

Tropic Falls at OWA is the backup plan we give guests who’ve built a whole week around the beach and then watch the radar turn against them. It’s a genuine indoor water park in Foley, built under a 65,000-square-foot retractable roof and sidewall system that closes up in bad weather, with eleven water slides, a lazy river, a 30,000-square-foot wave pool, and a surf simulator for the kids who’ve outgrown the lazy river.

Because the roof and walls close on demand, it stays open and comfortable rain or shine, which is really the whole point of recommending it for a rainy day. Tickets are sold as day passes covering the whole park, and most families treat it as a half-day to full-day outing rather than a quick stop, bring swimsuits and a change of clothes and expect to lose a few hours to the wave pool alone.

It sits at OWA, about 20 minutes from most of our Gulf Shores and Orange Beach properties, alongside the rest of the OWA entertainment district, so a rained-out beach day can turn into a full day out without much extra driving. It’s our go-to suggestion for families who still want a proper water park day even when the Gulf itself isn’t cooperating.
